New Jersey

Our new office at New Jersey City University is at the epicenter of the state's rapidly growing technology scene – Jersey City. This office will serve as our home base as we grow The Community Corps, Technology Service Corps, and TechCareer Accelerator programs throughout New Jersey.

Jersey City Technology Service Corps: Young Adults

The most densely populated county in New Jersey, Hudson County is home to some of the most ethnically and linguistically diverse communities in the country. Despite a concentration of Fortune 500 companies in Jersey City's downtown, poverty and unemployment remains high within some pockets of the city and county. With nearly 40% of Jersey City residents being between the ages of 18 and 24, NPower is committed to training and preparing young adults for high quality jobs in the technology sector.

NPower's Technology Service Corps program provides free technology and professional skills training.
We offer mentoring from business leaders, paid internships and career development workshops at leading corporations and nonprofits, industry-recognized certifications as well as employment and alumni services. More than 80% of our alumni are employed or pursuing higher education within one year of graduation.

Our first Jersey City Technology Service Corps program is currently running with the next session scheduled to begin in July 2016. Young adults in our Jersey City Technology Service Corps program are participating in an intensive 22-week program that includes detailed classroom work, professional mentoring, internships, and job placement support. Our classes are limited to 25 students so candidates are encouraged to apply as soon as possible to ensure their seat.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Must have a high school diploma or GED/HSE
  • Ages 18-24
  • Must successfully complete all course work, including a seven-week internship
