Job Description

NPower has been deploying Constituent Relationship Management (CRM) solutions built on the Salesforce.com platform to nonprofit clients for over 5 years. Recently, it has developed a product to help foundations track their grant making activities. These clients often need additional support to optimally use and enhance their systems or augment their internal staff.

NPower is looking for an experienced professional who will work on project teams, under the direction of senior technical managers, to deploy CRM solutions to foundations and other non-profits. The work requires good skills in time-management, customer satisfaction, software configuration, and business analysis.

Responsibilities

A Project Manager is member of the professional services team responsible for one or more business processes. This position concerns business processes for delivering CRM systems to NPower’s non-profit clients. Initially, the position will concentrate on delivering a CRM product that NPower has developed for foundations and grant-giving non-profits.

Deliver CRM Services

In this capacity, you will be responsible to:

  • Assist other NPower staff in evaluating clients’ needs in order to establish contractual agreements for service delivery.
  • Analyze clients’ business and operational needs, and configure CRM applications to meet their needs. Specific assignments may include designing, configuring, and testing workflows rules, validation rules, custom fields, web-portals, page-layouts, and other element of CRM configurations; building custom reports and report-templates; migrating legacy data into the new CRM application; and training clients to administer and configure their CRM services.
  • Support the growth of NPower’s CRM products and services by identifying and helping to deliver innovative, competitive, and cost-effective features and products.

Manage Projects

In this capacity, you will be responsible to:

  • Deliver phases or tasks within a large or complex project, under the direction of a senior project manager.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction and escalate technical and customer satisfaction issues as appropriate.
  • Document all work in a manner that promotes repeatability for future engagements.
  • On smaller or less complex projects, have primary responsibility for service delivery, with minimal oversight.
  • Effectively and reliably use web-based applications to manage opportunities, track tasks and work time, generate invoices, and manage issues.

Your performance will be evaluated in approximately equal measure on criteria of Client Satisfaction, Revenue Generation, and Professional Growth and Development.

Qualifications

At a minimum, a candidate must have or be able to demonstrate:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
  • At least 3 years of work experience in a client services environment
  • Basic competency in the use of computers and personal productivity applications (communication, scheduling, word processors, spreadsheets, presentations, etc.)
  • A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited higher education institution, preferably in a field related to information technology, business management, engineering, or public service.
  • Basic understanding of the non-profit sector
  • Ability to analyze and understand business processes, particularly in non-profit organizations
  • Experience with developing, deploying and operating information technology solutions
  • Ability to execute or quickly learn the skills necessary to configure fields, validations, reports, workflows, web-portals, and other elements of a fully elaborated web-based service.
  • Facility with data-management tools and methods. This may include expertise with spreadsheets and databases; experience in cleaning, transforming, and migrating data; and knowledge of methods to assure data quality.
  • Familiarity with the industry-standard methods for technical project management and implementation of software services
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to manage customer expectations; must have a strong focus on customer satisfaction
  • Ability to travel approximately 20-30%.

Preference will be given to individuals who additionally have or can demonstrate:

  • Experience with developing and/or administering databases (e.g. MS Access, SQL etc.)
  • Salesforce.com certification or training;
  • Knowledge of Salesforce nonprofit start pack (NPSP), Conga Composer and other Salesforce AppExchange products, or object-oriented web programming;
  • Interest in and demonstrated experience with nonprofit organizations, business operations and technology needs;
  • Experience with issues-tracking tools for software development or automated systems for project tracking and delivery of professional services;
  • Experience with working with offshore teams for project delivery;
  • An advanced degree in business (MBA) or public administration (MPA).

Compensation and Benefits

Salary: $60,000 - 80,000 per year based upon qualifications and skills. Individuals who meet or exceed performance goals are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus when established for the organization by the Board of Directors.

Holidays, Vacation and Leave: Full-time employees receive 15 days of vacation, 11 paid holidays, 3 personal days and 12 sick days per year.

Other Benefits: NPower will cover 80% of the cost for health, vision and dental insurance upon the successful completion of an introductory period. Individuals may immediately participate in a 403b retirement plan, TransitChek and FSA (Flexible Spending Account) program.
