Exchanging Information in Real-time to Protect Texas Children
NPower Texas set up TexProtects' e-mail system streamlining the exchange of information in real-time.
Challenge
TexProtects was unsatisfied with their e-mail hosting company which was unresponsive and inattentive and did not understand the unique technology needs a nonprofit has. TexProtects was looking for a trusted technology provider that offered affordable, nonprofit-focused solutions.
Solution
TexProtects enlisted the help of NPower Texas to manage the complete migration of their Microsoft Outlook e-mail system and all of its functionality including e-mail, calendaring, contacts, and tasks to a new hosting provider. This project involved coordinating PCs, Macs, Blackberries, and an iPhone. NPower Texas worked with our preferred hosting company, Rackspace, through a program called Hosted Exchange which combines Rackspace services with Microsoft Exchange technology to provide secure, reliable e-mail that can be accessed from anywhere and at anytime. An NPower staff member and Rackspace technician walked TexProtects staff through the entire process remotely, guiding them each step of the way until the migration was successfully completed. As a result, this critical application was up and running the same afternoon, avoiding disruptions and breakdowns in communication and scheduling.
As TexProtects requires additional mailboxes to be set up, NPower Texas is able to perform this task promptly, on as needed basis.
Impact
TexProtects is able to easily and effectively access and connect with its many advocates across the state of Texas, in real-time, through e-mail. The TexProtects advocates play an essential role in successfully developing, educating, and promoting child welfare priorities that protect thousands of Texas children. Staff and advocates can exchange information, communicate inexpensively and conveniently, automating time-consuming tasks in a hosted environment that guarantees reliability, protecting critical data 100% of the time.
"Thanks so much for helping us out so quickly today! We're so glad to have NPower's help with our tech needs!"
