Helping New Orleans Organizations Recover from Hurricane Katrina
Funded by: Microsoft Corporation
In partnership with: Louisiana Association of Nonprofit Organizations
Project Details
NPower, along with the Louisiana Association of Nonprofit Organizations (LANO), is conducting a 12-month project in New Orleans to give organizations impacted by Hurricane Katrina the technology they need to help more people in their community.
Fifteen to 20 organizations will be selected to participate in an NPower technology assessment, followed by a variety of technology assistance projects depending on their needs. Projects may include development of an organization's web site to help them inform New Orleans residents about their services and collect funds online, or the creation of a database to track clients and the services they have received. For some, perhaps setting up a new office with networked computers and email is the first priority.
This project is a part of the capacity-building services provided by Nonprofit Central, a program of LANO. Technology services are provided in partnership with TechBridge, NPower's Atlanta program.
