Using Microsoft Office to Write Winning Proposals and Reports

This class will lead you through the process of writing letters of inquiry, winning grant proposals,  and informative reports  from start to finish using the various technology tools available on your desktop. You'll learn how to use the Internet, Excel, Word, and Acrobat to manage the complete cycle of grant writing.  This class is perfect for "accidental" fundraisers!  By the end of the class, you'll know how to:

   Research and find funders using the Internet

   Develop a clear program plan

   Write letters of inquiry,  proposals and reports using Word templates

   Create a program budget using Excel

   Distribute a finished writing project using Acrobat

   Create an organizational chart and program logic model using Word

Making Microsoft Outlook Work for You

Join us and learn how to manage your calendar and emails rather than having them manage you!  This class will cover both basic and advanced functions of Microsoft Outlook and will teach you how to become much more efficient in your use of this invaluable tool.  In this workshop, we will cover creating and editing contacts & addresses, collaborating with other users (polls, meetings, sharing calendars), advanced email techniques like dealing with junk email, organizing emails and folders, and changing the look of Outlook to fit the way you work.

How to Develop a Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Plan

This workshop will give you the tools and resources needed to develop a disaster recovery and business continuity plan for your organization.  You'll learn critical and practical steps that will increase your organization?s disaster and emergency readiness.  By the end of the course, you'll know how to:

 

   Create a functional disaster recovery and business continuity plan for your organization

   Assess the impact that a disaster could have on your organization

   Prioritize your organization's recovery needs after an emergency or disaster

   Develop recovery strategies for your technology and your critical services 

   Identify simple steps you can take to better prepare for an interruption in service delivery

   Create procedures to guide staff through a recovery effort

Making Sense of Technology

Does the thought of technology planning for your organization frustrate you?  In this course we'll try to make sense of technology by exploring the connection between technology and mission, using innovative examples of technology use in other nonprofits. We'll also discuss the basics of technology planning including what a tech plan is, why you should do one and the steps you need to take to complete it.  The course includes:
