Paying it Forward - A Newark Success Story

Mailien N.

Cybersecurity Department of Labor Apprentice

Mailien, a Newark resident, utilized the great opportunities NPower provided by completing the Tech Fundamentals program and enrolling in the Cybersecurity program. Not only did she apply herself to learning and understanding the IT field, but also decided to give back by becoming a technical instructor assistant and sharing her knowledge with others.

There was a lot of support for young females trying to break into the IT field. We met many strong female role models through site visits which encouraged and impacted not just me but other females in my class. I had a lot of support from the NPower team, especially when it came to my professional development and how I presented myself.
