NPower Celebrates New Home for its No-Cost IT Job Training Program for Young Adults in East Harlem

Today, NPower, a leading national nonprofit that launches IT careers for veterans and young adults from underserved communities, is thrilled to announce the reopening of its free 22-week IT Job Training Program in East Harlem, NY. At NPower’s ribbon-cutting ceremony on July 31, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. ET, Dana Stepp, Program Manager for Education Solutions, HP Inc., Mara Wald, District Manager for Corporate and Global Sales, HP Inc., Tony DeLisio of Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE), Luke Chilone of TD Ameritrade, Balaji Ganapathy of Tata Consultancy Services and NPower leadership will address NPower’s 39th cohort of local young adults, who will be placed in IT jobs in New York in less than six months. Former New York City Mayor, David L. Dinkins will also be in attendance.

NPower Graduates 33 From Digital Career Program Aimed At Underserved Young Adults and Veterans

Attending were 33 graduates, along with teachers, administrators, parents, members of the board and sponsors who hire NPower students as interns. NPower educates two kinds of students, veterans and young adults, and both were well represented at the ceremony. Michael K. Gray, director of constituent services for Congressman Donald M. Payne Jr., also attended. Michael Rasmussen, program manager at NPower, MC’ed the event.

Regional Business Council supports NPower in St. Louis with $25,000 grant

The St. Louis Regional Business Council is awarding a $25,000 grant to support NPower St. Louis, a national nonprofit that provides certification and training in IT and professional skills as well as job placement assistance to military veterans and young adults from underserved communities.
