In an effort to help San Mateo County veterans bridge military and civilian life, local agencies and organizations are focusing on how their programs can provide career advancement and connections with their local peers.
This coalition aims to rewire the hiring and retention practices of tech companies to be more inclusive.
The initiative, called Command Shift, brings together several companies to try and bridge tech’s diversity gap by opening up more opportunities for women of color in the industry.
The coalition includes Fortune 500 companies including Citi, Amazon Web Services, Comcast NBCUniversal, and Guardian Life to help non-degreed women of color access tech careers.
This April, we celebrate National Volunteer Month and recognize the IT executives and professionals from across the country who engage with NPower students in high impact and meaningful events such as career coaching, mentoring, tech challenges, and more. We appreciate the individuals who give their time to transform the lives of deserving young adults, veterans or military spouses coming through the NPower program.
